Cryo Pen

The Dermapen Cryo uses a very precise jet of highly compressed liquefied nitrous oxide (N2O) to destroy benign lesions, such as solar keratoses (age spots), skin tags and warts.  It allows the user to treat unsightly skin lesions in a matter of seconds. The Dermapen Cryo™ freezes the lesion's inter-cellular fluid, forming ice crystals, which subsequently rupture the cell membrane, thus destroying the cell.

The Dermapen Cryo™ is able to penetrate up to 1 mm per 5 seconds of application, making it an extremely versatile machine, treating anything from extremely superficial sun spots, to lesions up to 5 mm in depth.

HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?

Most lesions will completely resolve after the specified course of treatment.  In the case of lesions caused by sun damage such as solar keratosis, it is strongly recommended to avoid sun exposure and use SPF to avoid recurrence or development of new lesions.

ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?

Immediately following treatment, the lesion may darken, blister or it could look relatively unchanged. It can take up to two weeks to complete the subsequent healing process. Scabs may form, which will peel off on their own time . This process may leave a pink area on the skin, which usually resolves over a period of time. Thicker lesions such as warts are more likely to react this way and may need more than one treatment for ultimate results.

If we come across any lesions that we are unsure of, we will request you visit a dermatologist or plastic surgeon to determine whether they are safe for us to treat.
